April Spotlight: Jamie Burns
The staff and members of the My Place Teen Center would like to recognize and congratulate Jamie for being awarded the Teen Member Spotlight! Jamie is 18 years old and a senior at Bonny Eagle High School. She lives with her mother, father, sister, and her nephew. She has attended MPTC since 2011.
Jamie loves coming to My Place Teen Center. Her favorite things about the Center are helping out the staff with programs, being able to get homework help from different mentors who come in, and hanging out with her friends! She currently is enrolled in an early childhood education course through Westbrook Vocational School, and works Monday through Friday at The Little Red School House Daycare and Preschool. She is learning team building skills, leadership skills, and is a good role model for all other teens. We are very grateful to have Jamie come on a regular basis to MPTC. She is a positive, determined young woman who will achieve all she sets out to do.
Some of Jamie’s favorite things to do are: going makeup shopping, hanging out at the mall with her friends, enjoying time with her sisters, and playing with her niece and nephew! She has two older sisters that she is very thankful for; she can go to them about anything, and she knows they will be there for her! If Jamie had to describe herself in one word, she would use caring. Jamie plans on going to SMCC in the fall of 2018 to continue her education in Elementary Education. Keep up the amazing work, Jamie. We are extremely proud of you, and all you have accomplished!
